Jubilee Metals Group, a leading innovator in metals recovery, has achieved a pivotal milestone with regulatory approval for a diversified power supply deal in Zambia, marking a pivotal step in its operational strategy.

The agreement, effective January 20, 2025, guarantees a steady and reliable energy flow, enabling the company to resume operations at its Roan concentrator while ensuring seamless functionality at the Sable processing plant.

Enhanced energy infrastructure to support dual plant operations

The innovative power deal diversifies Jubilee’s energy portfolio by leveraging multiple generation points to mitigate risks associated with Zambia’s power distribution challenges.

This diversification reduces dependency on a single supplier, enhancing resilience and stability.

According to Miningweekly, the newly established supply is not only reliable but also cost-competitive with existing energy arrangements, ensuring operational and economic advantages.

The robust power infrastructure is fully operational and equipped to meet the demands of concurrent operations at the Roan concentrator and Sable plant, driving efficiency and output.

Resuming copper production: Overcoming past challenges

Preparations are already underway to restart the Roan concentrator, with copper production expected to ramp up to target levels in the coming months.

Diversified energy supply resolves historical power-related constraints that have hampered operations, setting the stage for consistent and reliable production.

Leon Coetzer, CEO of Jubilee Metals Group, lauded the team’s perseverance in navigating recent challenges. “The commencement of our new power supply agreement addresses the limitations that previously hindered Roan’s operations.

This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering reliable production and maintaining operational resilience,” Coetzer said.

Positioning Jubilee metals for sustained growth

This strategic development cements Jubilee Metals’ position as a key player in Zambia’s competitive mining sector.

By securing a reliable and cost-effective energy solution, the company enhances its capacity to deliver sustainable production, fortifying its growth trajectory.

As the Roan concentrator restarts, Jubilee is poised to capitalize on improved efficiency and stability, reinforcing its role as a leader in innovative metals recovery solutions.
