KEY POINTS

  • Koryx Copper has completed infill and expansion drilling at its wholly owned Haib copper project in southern Namibia, reporting assays from 18 holes over 7,074 metres.
  • Results showed wide intercepts and higher-grade near-surface zones, especially in Target Area 3, where the mine plan is scheduled to begin.
  • An updated mineral resource estimate and a prefeasibility study remain on track for publication before the end of 2026, CEO Heye Duan said.

Koryx Copper has completed the infill and expansion drilling programme at its wholly owned Haib copper project in southern Namibia, releasing assay results from 18 holes as it pushes the deposit toward development.

The TSX-V-listed company said the latest batch covered 7,074 metres of drilling. Specifically, the results extend a pattern of wide intercepts across the deposit, alongside some higher-grade zones near surface. Moreover, Koryx flagged Target Area 3, where the mine plan will begin, as a particular highlight.

A large porphyry system

Haib ranks among the region’s more substantial copper prospects. Notably, it is a massive, disseminated porphyry copper, molybdenum and gold deposit that Koryx plans to develop through large-scale open-pit mining. Furthermore, the company envisages conventional sulphide milling and flotation to produce a copper and molybdenum concentrate.

According to CEO and president Heye Duan, the new results reinforce earlier drilling. “Consistent with our prior results, we continue to see wide intercepts across the Haib deposit, together with some notably higher-grade zones near surface,” he said, singling out Target Area 3 where mining is set to start.

Next steps toward development

With the drilling now finished, attention turns to the studies. According to Duan, the technical team is now driving the geological modelling and estimation work needed for an updated mineral resource estimate and a prefeasibility study. Additionally, he said both remain on track for publication before the end of 2026.

The timeline matters for a project of this scale. Consequently, the resource update and prefeasibility study will offer the clearest read yet on Haib’s size, grade and economics. Ultimately, those documents should determine whether Koryx can convert a long-known porphyry system into a viable large-scale copper mine as global demand for the metal climbs.
