KEY POINTS

  • IMT has replaced Probe IMT with a new identity focused on integrated mining solutions.
  • AIH Capital, Kleoss Capital and Ditiro Capital have joined the company’s shareholder structure.
  • IMT plans to expand across Africa by combining technology, engineering and safety solutions.

Integrated Mining Technologies, IMT, formerly known as Probe IMT, has unveiled a new corporate identity and strengthened ownership structure as it positions itself for further expansion across Africa’s mining industry.

The company’s transition to IMT marks more than a change of name. It reflects its evolution from a technology-focused business into an integrated provider of mining productivity and safety solutions.

IMT said the mining industry is facing growing pressure to improve productivity, enhance worker safety, adopt new technologies and comply with increasingly demanding regulatory and sustainability requirements.

Its new brand promise, “Turning Complexity into Certainty,” highlights its strategy of combining technology, engineering expertise, project delivery and operational support to solve complex challenges faced by mining companies.

Focus on integrated mining solutions

Rather than supplying individual technologies, IMT combines multiple systems and services to create solutions tailored to the operational needs of mining companies.

Its portfolio includes collision prevention systems, fleet safety technologies, intelligent monitoring, mining communications, auto-electrical services, engineering solutions, lighting and technical field support.

The company works with global mining technology providers while providing engineering, implementation and on-the-ground support.

IMT CEO Gert Roselt said technology alone cannot address the industry’s challenges, stressing that the effective integration of technology, engineering, people and disciplined execution is essential to achieving measurable results. The reorganisation also brings a new group of shareholders into the company.

South African private-equity firms AIH Capital, Kleoss Capital and Ditiro Capital have invested in IMT. The three firms are black-owned, while AIH Capital and Ditiro Capital are also women-led.

They join InspireX Collective, the investment vehicle through which IMT’s senior management holds its stake, as well as the Gert Roselt Family Trust, which retains a significant shareholding.

The company said the new ownership structure will broaden its shareholder base, strengthen governance and provide greater access to strategic expertise and long-term growth capital.

Despite the ownership changes, IMT’s existing executive leadership will remain in place.

The company said this will ensure continuity in its strategy, customer relationships and operational activities while the new shareholders support its next phase of growth.

The investors also expressed confidence in IMT’s leadership, operational reputation and potential to expand its contribution to Africa’s mining sector.

IMT said it intends to use the new structure to support sustainable regional growth, innovation and long-term value creation for customers, employees, shareholders and strategic partners.

The company is also looking towards Vision 2030, with an emphasis on helping mines operate more safely, efficiently and productively through integrated technology-enabled solutions.

Roselt said the future of mining will depend not simply on acquiring new technologies, but on organisations being able to integrate technology, engineering, people and execution into practical solutions that deliver measurable business results.
