KEY POINTS

  • M2i signed a two-year cooperation deal with three Polish firms.
  • The partnership will assess tungsten, molybdenum and copper projects.
  • Myszków has been studied for mineral potential for about 50 years.

US-based critical minerals company M2i Global has entered a two-year strategic cooperation agreement with three Polish mineral resource companies to assess tungsten, molybdenum and copper opportunities in the Myszków area of Poland.

Permia 1, Permia 2 and Permia 3 signed the agreement with M2i Global as the companies seek to evaluate the geological, technical and economic potential of mineral projects in the region.

The cooperation will focus on projects containing tungsten, molybdenum and copper mineralisation, while also examining how potential developments could contribute to more secure critical minerals supply chains.

The companies will assess geological information, technical development options and economic prospects as part of the collaboration.

The agreement also creates a framework for exploring potential links with supply chains serving the US, Europe and other allied countries.

Focus on secure mineral supplies

M2i CEO Alberto Rosende said Poland’s position as a US ally makes the country an important potential source of critical minerals.

He said the projects in the Myszków area could provide an opportunity to assess a European source of tungsten, molybdenum and copper as Western industries seek to diversify mineral supplies.

The collaboration comes as governments and industries place greater emphasis on securing supplies of minerals considered important for manufacturing, technology, defense and other strategic sectors.

M2i said the agreement is intended to determine the technical and commercial potential of the projects rather than establish an immediate mining development.

M2i to support investment efforts

Under the agreement, M2i may help the Permia companies engage with US investors, financing institutions, industrial partners and potential customers.

The parties may also explore opportunities linked to critical minerals programs operated by US government agencies and institutions.

Rosende said the collaboration could help identify potential pathways involving investors, prospective offtake partners and government-supported critical minerals initiatives.

Permia 1 President Kasjan Wyligała said working with M2i would allow the Myszków projects to be assessed within a broader international supply security framework.

He said M2i’s US market relationships and critical minerals experience could complement the geological work being undertaken by the three Permia companies in Poland.

Myszków has long mining history

The Myszków area has been the subject of geological research for about 50 years, with mineralisation containing tungsten, molybdenum and copper identified in the region.

Permia 1, Permia 2 and Permia 3 are continuing work to better understand the geological characteristics and economic potential of their projects.

The latest agreement is expected to provide the companies with additional technical, commercial and market expertise as they assess the prospects for developing the mineral resources.

Any future development would depend on the results of ongoing geological and economic evaluations, as well as potential financing, investment and offtake arrangements.
