Arkadian Strategic Metals has commenced an extensive 2026 technical exploration programme at its Motzfeldt critical metals project in Greenland, deploying a combination of conventional geological fieldwork, remote sensing and advanced geochemical technologies to identify and prioritise new mineral targets.
The programme is designed to improve the company’s understanding of the Motzfeldt mineral system and provide the geological data needed to guide the next phase of exploration drilling.
The 2026 campaign is focused on four key prospects within the Motzfeldt project — Aries, Merino, Voskop and Drysdale.
Arkadian’s immediate objective is to map mineral signatures and the distribution of elements across the broader project area. The company expects the work to provide a clearer picture of how mineralisation is distributed across the system and help refine geological models developed from historical exploration data.
The company said results from the campaign will be used to rank exploration targets and determine the areas that should receive priority during its next major diamond drilling programme.
Advanced Technology to Improve Exploration
Arkadian is combining field-based geological observations with high-resolution remote sensing and analytical technologies to build a detailed, multi-layered geological model of Motzfeldt.
Among the tools being deployed are satellite datasets and field-based hyperspectral imaging. These technologies are being used to identify alteration zones and trace the surface expressions of critical mineralisation across the project.
The company is also using portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analysers and gamma spectrometers. These instruments allow exploration teams to collect geochemical and radiometric information in real time while working in the field.
By combining the different datasets, Arkadian aims to establish stronger links between surface mineral signatures and the deeper geological structures associated with the Motzfeldt hydrothermal system.
The exploration work at Aries and Merino is already generating data, while additional information is being collected from Voskop and Drysdale.
Arkadian plans to integrate the datasets from all four prospects to establish the structural boundaries of the wider Motzfeldt mineralised centre.
This approach is expected to help the company distinguish between different mineralisation zones and identify areas with the strongest potential for further investigation.
