Andrada Begins Exploration at Namibia License

by Adenike Adeodun

Andrada Mining, an AIM-listed African tech metals miner, has initiated its preliminary exploration for the Brandberg West license in Namibia.

According to a report by Mining Weekly, CEO Anthony Viljoen indicates that the program’s goal is to gauge mineralization around the Brandberg West mine. This exploration mirrors the successful model they previously rolled out at their Uis mine in Namibia, transforming it from a defunct historical operation into a thriving mine.

“Past data suggests that EPL5445 can potentially double the tin concentrate volume currently produced at Uis. Additionally, it offers the possibility of adding tungsten to Andrada’s growing list of metals. The Erongo region is establishing itself as a goldmine for untapped technology metals. We’re enthusiastic about initiating work on what we project to be another top-tier tech metals asset,” Viljoen stated on October 12.

The Brandberg West exploration is set to bolster Andrada’s position in the tech-metals industry, potentially introducing vital revenue streams from tungsten, with copper also in the mix as a supplementary product.

The company has strategized a two-phased plan for Brandberg West’s development. The first phase zeroes in on the historical mining area, emphasizing the northern extension due to its mineral-rich surface veins. This phase also encompasses a comprehensive drilling program assessment of the mineralization in the historical pit, with a 3,000-meter drilling program slated to commence later this year.

The subsequent phase will survey the broader license area’s mineralization potential. Viljoen notes that the agenda entails scrutinizing various mineralization instances via sampling and geological charting to identify potential enrichment patterns.

Currently, Brandberg West stands as the sole Namibian exploration license under Andrada’s umbrella. Given its substantial tin and tungsten mineralization, the project’s acquisition aligns with Andrada’s vision, steering the company toward its goal of ascending as a premier multi-tech-metal producer.
